Snowflakes stain my skin
A jigsaw of jagged edges and spiky needles
Making me strong, but tender within.
A mesh of rage and anger,
Shattered glass and fragile hearts,
Icy silence ripped apart.
Eyelids heavy with broken sleep,
Fragmented indentations of imagination
Scattered across cold black feet.
Rainbow bruises and paper cuts
Dead daffodils and forget-me-nots,
The red moon shines only at dusk.
Distinguishing diamonds from stones,
Gold from dust, truth from untruth
You’re always the joker, I’m always the fool.
